            FORGIVE

         Season 2

         Episode 3
“Mum we did it only once and it was an accident so I’m not sure the pregnancy belongs to me.” “What is going on in this house? Forgive why are you crying? Is everything alright?” Gilbert’s father asked upon returning from work, He heard the discussion from the corridor as he was entering.
Gilbert and his mother kept looking straight into my face to hear what I would say.

“Are you not the one he is asking the question? Or you can’t talk?” Gilbert’s mother asked. “Gilbert what is the problem with your friend?” Gilbert’s father asked.

“Dad honestly I don’t really know. She was moody since she came and was not talking.” Gilbert reported. “Forgive my dear, you are such a beautiful girl and looking at your face like this is not the best. Tell me what your problem is. OK, follow me let’s go to the summer hut and talk to me. Stop crying.” Gilbert’s father said. “My dear, you told me over the phone that you were hungry, your food is getting cold, come and eat first. Know that you are not very well.” “Oh yeah am hungry but am not sure we will keep long. Or Forgive will it take you long to tell me what your problem is?” he asked. “No dad.” I responded. “My friend, if you won’t keep long in telling my husband your problem then say it here. Don’t use my husband as one of your preys. My husband is not feeling well.” Gilbert’s mother said angrily.
“I’m…… I’m…… I’m pregnant for….for Gil…. Gil…” “hey my friend stop it there! Since when did you start stuttering or stammering? But be mindful of what you want to say here.” Gilbert’s mother intercepted me. “I believe you people said she wasn’t ready to speak. Now that she has started, allow her the opportunity to tell us what her concerns are. Forgive, speak we are listening.” Gilbert’s father cautioned. “Please I said am pregnant for Gilbert and he refused to accept responsibility.” I disclosed.
“Forgive stop that concert and tell my parents the truth. Tell them you want me to take someone’s pregnancy because you think we are rich. When did I get you pregnant? Some jokes are very expensive. Dad please don’t take her serious.” Gilbert said.
“Gentleman will you shut up? Have I asked you any question? Gilbert was silenced. “Honey so will you believe what this girl is saying against your son? How can someone who is just recovering from his condition impregnate a lady? Or he has now turned into Angel Gabriel who got Mary pregnant? prop this girl well if not you will be making mistakes.” Gilbert’s mother advised.
“Woman, stop defending your son here. This lady here is not a child not to know who got her pregnant. Gilbert have you ever slept with this lady without protection?” Gilbert’s father asked.
“Dad, what we did was not anything that you could refer to as sex which can lead to pregnancy. Besides, it wasn’t even up to five minutes.” Gilbert said. “Will you answer my question and stop the circumlocution? I asked if you’ve ever slept with Forgive without protection. I only expect a yes or no response and nothing more than that. Am listening.” His father instructed.
 Gilbert remained silent.
“Has Forgive’s mutism affected you that you can’t also talk?” His father asked. “Dad… Dad…. It’s not what you think. And besides what we did cannot lead to pregnancy.” “Don’t get me angry and answer my question.” His father retorted
“Darling at least let your son explain himself. Are we in a military camp in this house where one cannot complain before doing?” Gilbert’s mother came into it. “Irene I said you should stop defending your son. Let him speak for himself.”
*”Yes dad we did.”* but I can explain. Gilbert confessed.
“And when was that or if I should ask, when was the last time you both had that experience?” His father asked. “Dad only once and it was very short.” he said.
“Don’t be stupid by telling me it was short. Do you need twenty four hours of sex before you get a woman pregnant? You are even lucky that you are in your final semester,  you would have deferred your program, work and take care of the lady and her unborn child.

Don’t be too smart. I’ve been to school before. I’ve seen more than you are doing now. Answer my question.” His father commanded.
“Dad it was only once.” Gilbert said.
“OK. Forgive don’t worry yourself. He will marry you. And you Gilbert, I don’t like irresponsible people in my house. When I got your mother pregnant in school, I took the responsibility and the product is what is making you stand here behaving like this in my presence. Irene, accept her, after all, she is a nice girl and you do say it yourself.” Gilbert’s father suggested.
“Honey, why do you just conclude everything like that without investigating to know the truth? Do you think this girl does not have other sugar daddies and boyfriends on campus? I just hope you are not making mistakes.” His mother said.
Gilbert couldn’t say anything again.
“Gilbert won’t you talk? His mother asked. “Mum what should I say after all that daddy said? It is Afya I love but since she doesn’t care about me any longer, I won’t mind accepting Forgive and the pregnancy.”
“Oh my God! Gilbert! Thank you very much for understanding me. Daddy thank you. God will always bless you. Gilbert thank you for accepting me if not I would have become a single parent to our unborn child. God bless you.” I said with tears of joy.
“OK, if you say so, I equally have nothing to say. Since your father is in support, I have no problem.” his mother said.
“Thank you mum.” I went to give her a hug and later came to hug Gilbert.
“I hope the food is warm?” Gilbert’s father asked after he came out from the bath. “Yes it is.” his wife responded. “Forgive come and join me let’s eat. Don’t worry, Gilbert cannot make your life miserable.” His father assured.
I went to join them on the table but I didn’t eat because I wasn’t having any appetite for food.

“So where are your parents? We need to do the arrangements fast before the pregnancy becomes visible.” Gilbert’s father asked.
“My mother is late but my father is at Agorkpo in the Volta region.” I said.
“oh yeah, you said it, you told me your mother had pass on. Sorry for reminding you of that. OK get us the marriage list from your father so that we do everything fast.” His father said.
“Am just not comfortable with how you are handling this matter? This lady just claimed something to you in just some few minutes ago. Why don’t you let us investigate further. Hmm.” his mother cautioned.
“I’m a man and I know what guys at this age are capable of. Irene, have you forgotten the circumstances under which I married you? Rather be advising Nana Akua to take care of herself before what I did to you happens to her.” his father quizzed.
“Dad I’m interested in knowing what happened between you and mum. ‘ _Na wo y3 guy wuhu haha…_” Gilbert teased his father.
“Silly boy, sit there and ask me questions instead of thinking of how you are going to take care of your woman and her unborn baby. I’m only helping halfway with the marriage ceremony so stop jubilating. You saw yourself a man that’s why you did what grown men do.”
Later, after the dinning, I left to campus. Afya went home and showed the picture to her mother to have a look whether she knows my dad somewhere.
“Afya where did you get this picture? And why did you bring it to me to have a look at it? Afya’s mother asked.
“Mum is that not the man you’ve been talking about? Just look at it well.” Afya asked.
“This man looks like your father but am not sure he is the one. That man do not have such a big head as this man in this photo. Let me see, I think he should be the one. Looking at his big belly, it looks like him. My eyes can’t see well now a days oo. Where did you get the picture from?” her mother asked.
“His daughter is in our school. Per what she was telling me I think her father is also my father per what you’ve been telling me about him.” Afya said.
“Afya am not very sure it is him. That man cannot afford to pay university bills. Let your friend ask his father if he knows me. Or go with her to their house and see if the man knows me.”
The reason was that my father has changed over time and also, Afya’s mother was ageing so had problem with her sight.
I was in my room thinking of how I will go to the village to get the marriage list from my father and also know why my sister called.

I heard a knock on my door and it was Afya.
“Are you done with my father’s picture now?” I asked her without allowing her to greet. “Forgive I think we share the same father. Can you take me to your village let me see him?” Afya requested. “You think my father is your father. hmm this girl paa, have you started doing weeds? My dear it’s not good for your health. Did you hear yourself well? What made you to say so?” I asked.
“Forgive I can only confirm this after I’ve seen and spoken with him. I’ve not taken any weed or drink. I’m serious. When will you be going home?” she asked. “I’mm planning of tomorrow.” I replied. “Why? did you have that plan for going home already?” Afya asked. “That is none of your business madam. Should I tell you why am going home?” I asked her.
“Sorry. I will go with you tomorrow. This is your picture.” she gave the picture and asked for a leave. A call came and it was from Nana Akua, Gilbert’s sister. Afya stopped to listen to our conversation. “Hello Nana Akua, how are you doing?” I asked over the phone. The environment was quite so Afya could hear the callers voice. “Sister Forgive I was told you are becoming my sister in-law.  Meaning the pregnancy was for my brother. Wow! I’m happy for you.” Nana Akua said over the phone. “Nana Akua let me call you back later.” I said and ended the call.
“I think I can recognise that Nana Akua girl. Is that not Gilbert’s sister? Forgive are you pregnant for my Gilbert?” Afya asked.

To be continued……
Are you in support of how Gilbert’s father handled the pregnancy case?

And do you suggest Forgive discloses the owner of her pregnancy to Afya?

            FORGIVE

         Season 2

         Episode 2
“And who told you I want to be with an HIV husband? The chicken of it. Am packing my things out from this house. Dare you come closer to me and see where you will end up at. Useless man.” My aunt said and went into her room. I also took my bag with my father’s picture and left.
The fact is, Mr. Dennis has low sperm count. He performs well but his sperms are not strong enough to cause pregnancy. This is one thing we need to take note of. Most at times, men blame their partners of infertility when pregnancy is not coming. They forget to think that a woman alone cannot become pregnant. Low sperm count can equally prevent a woman from becoming pregnant so the need for both partners to seek medical advice in addition to being prayerful.
Mr Dennis followed her wife into the room. “Rosemond if you do not tell me who impregnated you, I will do something that will jeopardize your life.” “Don’t think I fear your threats. Dennis, I gave my all to you. I accepted you as my husband and respected you to the maximum, I stood in for you during difficult times, I loved you deep from my heart, but what do I see in return? You don’t respect me because I  am not academically inclined like those girls. You always blame me for being the problem when pregnancy was not coming. You will confirm it yourself that I was a virgin before you met me. But what do I see of late? You go around sleeping with small girls because you felt I can’t reproduce. It will interest you to know that, I’ve been going for consultation and prayers from a prophet close to my village. It got to a time when I began having feelings for him because he gave me the attention I needed as a woman. You will leave home early in the morning and return late in the night. We ended up sleeping with each other and that resulted in the pregnancy. The plan was that I should give the pregnancy to you to avoid any form of disgrace that was why I couldn’t tell you about it when the pregnancy came earlier. You beating me the last time caused me that miscarriage. I now know that I am not infertile but you. You just heard Forgive, the girl you’ve been sleeping with told you in your face that you were not the one that impregnated her. It is even too late to work on yourself because which lady will want to sleep with you in this condition? Am sorry to tell you that I want a divorce. After all, I have nothing to gain or lose. I can’t stay in this marriage.” My aunt said passionately.
Suddenly, tears engulfed the eyes of Mr. Dennis as he stood motionless, watching his wife speak her mind. “Rosemond please don’t leave me alone, I will die if you leave me.

Please you are the only one I have left, Please I promise to with immediate effect give you all the needed attention. Please I will be of good behaviour. Please tell me you are joking with the divorce.” He said amidst tears
“Hmm Dennis, I never knew you could be sober like this. The fact is, it is too late to continue in this marriage. We can’t make love. We can’t have children, so tell me why I should continue in this. Don’t worry, from time to time I will be coming to check up on you so just agree on the divorce.” My aunt responded.
“Rosemond, I can vividly remember the day you proclaimed in public that for better for worse and until death do us apart. Please can you consider that proclamation and reconsider your decision?” Mr. Dennis pleaded.
“And I can vividly remember when you also proclaimed that to cherish and to love. What have I witnessed, just few years after that proclamation? If you don’t want to grant me the divorce then I want to tell you that I am leaving. When you feel you are ready for the divorce, invite me. I will come.” My aunt said and started packing her belongings.
Mr. Dennis just stood there watching. He shook his head and went to sit down in the hall. He just realised he didn’t remove the attire he took to work. He loosened his belt and buttons and switched on the television to watch news.
On my way to my hostel, I was thinking about the scene I caused in the house. “So I was able to do this. Hmm I only pray Gilbert don’t misbehave. But it is obvious this pregnancy belonged to Gilbert because aunt Rose just confirmed it that he was not fertile. But what exactly did my sister tell aunt that she doesn’t want to tell me? God, please don’t let my father die now oo, let him see me become a big girl and see what God can do.”
I got to the hostel very tired so I slept off. Early the next morning, the lecturer called and said he wanted to meet me at his office. We fixed the time and when the time was close, I set off  to the office. Very unfortunately for me, Afya also planned vising the lecturer. I got there first anyway. He told me that he has taken care of my results so I shouldn’t worry. I said I wanted evidence so he opened my students portal on his desktop computer for me to see. I needed to walk and stand beside him before I could see it because that was the only way I could see the screen. The very moment he opened the page, Afya appeared. “Ayekoo! I said it. Forgive why are you on my nerves like this? After Gilbert, you are now on Dr. Bansah. Look, this is an office so I don’t  want to create any scene here. Just advice yourself.” Afya said.
“Afya you cannot come to my office and decide what happens in the office. Don’t make me change my mind on you.” Dr. Bansah said.
“Sir thank you. I’ve seen it. I will want to ask for a leave now.” I said. “OK my dear. Take care of yourself.” Dr. Bansah said to me as I left the office. “I believe you brought the picture. I will come for it.” Afya asked but I didn’t respond to her.
Later in the day, she came to my hostel for the picture. She said she will go and show it to her mother over the weekend. I told her that was the only copy I have so she shouldn’t misplace it.
“Now that my results have been worked on, I think I have to go to Gilbert and his family before it’s too late.” I said to myself.
The following day, I dressed up very decently and head towards Nsawam. Gilbert’s mother welcomed me nicely. I told her I was only there to see how their son was doing. She was very happy and allowed me to go and see Gilbert in his room.
Gilbert was doing well and was equally happy to see me. “Forgive what have you been eating of late before you are gaining weight like this?” He asked jokingly.
“Oh yeah, I need to gain weight because my boy has recovered from his condition. Gilbert am happy for you. But do you know you are the best thing that has ever happened to me?” I asked. “How? What have I done that  is causing you to say this?” he asked. “Will you believe your single stone has killed a bird?” “Afya, oh sorry, Forgive, you are speaking in parable. Come clear.” he pleaded. “So you are still thinking about Afya. Since this thing happened to you, has she even bothered to find out how you are doing? You are here mentioning her name.” I said. “Oh that’s true but I still love her. I have her in my heart.” Gilbert said. I was not comfortable with what he said but I took it easy. “I hear you Mr lover boy. I want to tell you that, that one shot round of sex we had has made me to be carrying your child.” I disclosed. “What! You are carrying my child? Or I didn’t hear you well? How?” he asked with an unfriendly look. “stop that. I said I am pregnant for you.” “Look, I’m not fully fit to be stressing myself, How can you tell me that I am the owner of your pregnancy after we had sex only once? Please do me the favour by sending that pregnancy to the owner and don’t come and give me any problem.” Gilbert said. “What are you saying Gilbert? Does it mean you are not aware you can impregnate a lady with seconds of sex with her? I was in my danger periods when it happened, and I had not slept with anyone in four months before that day, and with no one also after you, so it belonged to you. I have no other man than you. Please don’t put up any scene here.” I said to him. “hmm this girl should be in the dream land. I beg wake up. Am going to the hall. Join me when you wake up.”he said and moved out of the room.
His mother met him on his way. “Gilbert why is your face like this? Is something the problem?” His mother asked. “Mum, Will you imagine Forgive coming to give me someone’s pregnancy, claiming that I am the owner? “he asked his mother. “And what should be the meaning of that? Where is she?” his mother asked. “Mum I’m here. Mum please my pregnancy belongs to Gilbert. He was the last person I slept with and even many months before our encounter, I had nothing to do with any man.” I said. “Hey my friend don’t think you can just come and dump any pregnancy on my son. What is your evidence that my son is the one responsible?” she asked. “Mum we even used a condom and it was even an accident.” Gilbert said. “Gilbert what are you saying? I will take you to court if you want to make things difficult for me.

I am very surprised with what is happening here.” I said. “Gilbert are you sure you are not the owner of the pregnancy? Gilbert tell me the truth before it becomes too late.

But make sure your father do not hear about this now, if not he will skin you alive.” “mum we did it only once and it was an accident so am not sure the pregnancy belongs to me.” “What is going on in this house? Forgive why are you crying? Is everything alright?” Gilbert’s father returned from work and asked.
To be continued……

            FORGIVE

         Season 2

         Episode 1
“Forgive can I see any of your father’s pictures if you have it?” she asked. “But for what? Has it gotten to that too? Anyway, I have some at my aunts place but not here.” I replied. “What has gotten to what? I don’t like that. Just do me the favour and let me have a look at it.” She asked. “Look at you, you think you can send your evil things to my father isn’t it? Despite the fact that my father was an ungrateful man, I won’t allow you to send him to his early grave. He needs to see me getting married officially before leaving this earth. I even need to search for his whereabouts.” “Forgive what stupid thing are you trying to tell me? I won’t take that from you next time. I wish you understand why am asking of the picture.” She said angrily. “Don’t I know what you are capable of? If you could do that to my aunt’s husband what else can’t you do to my father? Tell me why you want to see my father’s picture” I said to her. “Am having some feelings that something is wrong somewhere. Just bring the picture first and then you will understand what I mean. I need to meet with my project supervisor so am leaving.” she said in a polite manner this time around and left. I became somehow naive as to why she needed the picture of my father. “OK,  I don’t think she will have any feelings for an old man like my father. But I think it’s a high time I go to the village to check up on him.” I said to myself after she left the room.
I went to lock the door and  to laid on my bed thinking of how to manage my pregnancy. It started ringing in my mind to abort it. “What happens if Gilbert do not accept this pregnancy? This will mean I will end up being a ‘born one’ and my child will also be fatherless. Hmm but what happens if it gets complicated? No! What will come can come, I must not try any abortion to this pregnancy. This same thing nearly took away my life and God being so good, I survived. I least expected this pregnancy. No, let me give this pregnancy to Gilbert. His family is equally rich. After all they already know me. Hey, but won’t Afya fight me should I say the pregnancy belongs to Gilbert? I don’t care about that.” I was thinking aloud with many thoughts flooding my head.
*Back at my home town, Agorkpo*
Sir Louis was still serving his jail terms with hard labour. He really regretted having an association with me. One afternoon at the prison’s farm, he became tired and sat under some cassava tree with his head bowed and went into thinking. “hmm God, why should you allow my enemies to get me like this? I have no idea about the death of that woman but because my hands were already in their mouth, they accused me of her death. The real killer is moving about freely. God why? All I’ve planned for my life has all shattered. I’m left with eight more years to spend in this condition. Until when? Will I even live to see the day I will be released? But God, if you spared the killer of this woman to walk away freely, then you are not the just God I know of. I accepted being here because of what I did to Forgive. I owe her an apology anyway but not for serving jail terms for a murder case I have no idea of.” Sir. Louis went into deep mind puzzle.
“hey you lazy man, have you finish your assigned work to be sitting down aimlessly? Are you better than those under the sun doing the work? Start working before I deny you of your lunch. Move faster!” the prisons officer commanded as he saw Sir. Louis sitting.
“Sir. Please have mercy on me, I didn’t do what they accused me of.” he pleaded.  “will you shut that thing you call mouth up and work before I descend on you?  The time you were enjoying yourself you never thought of it that you could end up in a place like this. If I see you talk again, I will make everybody stop working and you will finish up everything alone. You are not even ashamed of yourself for sleeping with a thirteen years old girl. I would have skinned you alive if that child was my daughter!.” the officer threatened. Louis was actually tortured that day by the officer because he was extremely tired. “hmm the truth will come out one day. He said to himself as he was forced to work more.
My sister finished learning her trade and was ready for marriage. She informed my aunt about her marriage when my aunt visited the village and asked her to inform me about it so that I can come and help her out in everything. Because my aunt was bitter with me for sleeping with her husband, she never told me about my sister’s marriage. My sister was not having my number because at the time I was leaving the village, neither me nor my sister had phone. My sister expected me for long but I never showed up. My aunt told her that I was no longer staying in her house so she doesn’t know my whereabouts. My sister felt worried about me. She did all she could to reach me but to no avail.
My father, even though was old, organised the marriage ceremony very well yet my sister felt my absence because of the bond we shared.
This is what most irresponsible fathers do. They will be ready to take the glory if their children get successful later in life after their struggles to get to where they got to. My sister got married to a well to do man who partly helped her to complete her trade. My father entertained himself with drinks that day simply because his daughter got married to a well to do man and has the notion that the man will provide for him as well. Right after the traditional marriage, my father took some alcoholic beverage which wasn’t good for him. He felt sharp pains in his stomach but ignored it. Within few minutes, the situation became very severe so they rushed him to the hospital. Upon reach to the hospital, he was still unconscious. The doctors said he suffered from Liver sclerosis. This condition according to the doctor would keep long before if God comes to his rescue, he becomes fine. The doctor suggested a referral to 37 Military Hospital because they had the ultra modern machines to keep him. There was no money to foot the cost involved in that referral due to the huge amount spent on the marriage ceremony. They decided to manage him at the Adedome Hospital since he was on health insurance.
*Back to Accra.*
I went to my aunt’s place to get my father’s picture as suggested by Afya. After greeting her she kept starring at me so I asked her if there was any problem. “Forgive is it that you are growing fat or you are pregnant?” she asked. I felt a shock when she mentioned that. She saw the signs of pregnancy on me. I didn’t reply before Mr. Dennis returned from work to meet us. “wow! you both are now friends, that’s good. Forgive what brought you home today?” he asked. “I only came to visit. I will be going back in few minutes.” “Forgive I asked you a question, you didn’t respond. I said are you sure you are not pregnant?” she reiterated her question.
“What! What have I just heard? Forgive are you pregnant for me? Wow! My God is so wonderful. My enemies will never succeed. My dear thank you for replacing your aunt’s miscarriage.” Mr. Dennis said happily as I stood aloof without knowing what to do nor what to say.
“oh really! Ayeekoo! I said it. I said it that you have been sleeping with this girl but you denied it. I believe you’ve heard yourself now. Pregnant for you. So this would have been the things that would have been happening if I were to die. Anyways,  since it has gotten to this, let me also confess to you that the pregnancy I had before getting the miscarriage was not for you. So stop considering yourself as the owner of my spoilt pregnancy. ” my aunt unlocked a heavy bomb.
😳”what the hell are you telling me Rosemond?” Mr. Dennis asked with his eyes broadly opened. That atmosphere gave me a good standing to decide the father of my pregnancy. ” Aunt Rose, Yes please, I am pregnant but Mr. Dennis, am sorry to inform you that it is not yours. It belongs to Gilbert the boy you had wanted to kill. Aunt Rose I am very sorry for having affairs with your husband. I couldn’t stop him because of how he approached me.” I said.
“Forgive but what is the meaning of that? Were you not the people that told me that that boy was Afya’s boy? Tell me you are joking. How can you say that pregnancy does not belong to me? and you Rose, you also said your pregnancy was not mine. hmm hahaha, I can see that you people just planned to see how I will behave. OK OK!!  Enough of the drama, let’s be serious here.” Mr. Dennis said with a mixed feelings. We stood there looking at him as he kept tickling himself. He continued…
“Forgive what did you say? Is it a planned thing you people have plot against me or what? Before I count up to three, you will give me an answer before I get angry at both of you.”
My aunt’s phone rang and the call was from my sister. She was calling to inform my aunty that my father was in a critical condition at the hospital so they needed her financial assistance. “Look my friend, I was following you people and now my house is in a mess. Your father is of age, if he dies, that won’t be news. It will interest you to know that your sister has been sleeping with my husband.” she said to my sister over the phone and hanged up. “Aunty please was that my sister? Please let me speak with her? Did she say my father is dead?” I asked with desperation. “Stop asking me silly questions. I’ve had enough of you and your father.” she said without telling me the content of the call nor allowing me talk to my sister.
“will you people stop that concert and answer me? Forgive, I asked a question.” Mr Dennis alerted. “Look, I’ve got other things to talk about. See you later.”I said and walked out on them. “Are you walking out on me?” He asked. “And am I to beg you before I do that?” I gave a chicky response. My aunt also started moving away. “I will skin you alive if you also dare walk out on me. Where did you get that pregnancy from? If you don’t tell me now, I will forcibly sleep with you and give you some of my HIV. If you don’t want that, tell me who got you pregnant.” Mr. Dennis commanded. “And who told you I want to be with an HIV husband? The chicken of it. Am packing my things out from this house. Dare you come closer to me and see where you will end up at. Useless man.” My aunty said and went into her room. I also took my bag with my father’s picture and left.
The fact is that Mr. Dennis has low sperm count. He performs well but his sperms were not strong enough to cause pregnancy.
So who got my aunt pregnant? This world is very dark. Hmm my aunt was impregnated by a man of God who claimed he was praying for her to have babies. I will tell you more about that in the next episode.
To be continued……
Question for discussion:
Would you criticise Forgives aunt for getting pregnant for another man?
And will you advice she remains in the marriage?

            FORGIVE

             Episode 12

Mr. Dennis was processed for court and was fined an amount of Ghc 100,000.00 for assault and disturbing the university community. He was to pay all medical expenses for Gilbert in addition. Failure to pay the money, he  was to serve ten years in prison with hard labour. The university disciplinary committee also invited me and Afya to face them for oral examination and punishment for disturbing the university community with our fight. We were made to sign a bond of good behaviour and suspended for one semester each. That pronouncement really got into my inner most part of my heart. Luckily for Afya, the senior lecturer was there to plead on her behalf. The Dean of students was of the view that once the fight was between the two of us  they can’t reduce the punishment for Afya alone whilst they punish me, so they took off the suspension but the bond remained unchanged. I went to meet the senior lecturer who intervened for us at his office and thanked him. I later made him aware that I came to wait for him the other day at the joint but he never showed up. He asked me how my father was doing and I told him the condition was same. He told me that he had nothing on him at the moment so later. Due to the way he sounded nicely, I decided to tell him my main concern.

“Sir please am sorry to bother you more but I have a problem that I want you to help me to solve.” I said with almost a crying voice. “Come on, what should be troubling a nice lady like you that you have failed to say it? Talk to me but do that fast before your friend comes around.” he said. “Ok sir. Please I’ve failed my anatomy and physiology papers but the final results are yet to be out. Please I want you to help me change those grades into a pass one. Sir, due to my father’s condition, I hardly get time to study.” I said to him. “I believe you are Forgive am I correct?” “You are correct sir.” “Forgive, you know what you are asking for is a crime in this university. If I do that, I can be taken on by the school.” He said. “Sir please I know that but I just need your help. Sir I will give you anything you request for. Even if you need me in your bed 24/7, I will be available.” I pleaded. “Hmm, you are a nice girl and I won’t do anything to spoil your life. I do have fun with your friend because she has nothing to lose but with you, God will not forgive me just as your name suggested. I will help you but don’t let your friend know about it.” he said in a very caring way. I thanked him and gave him my details. When I was about leaving, he gave me some money to take care of myself. I left very happy but left thinking what he meant by not wanting to spoil my life.
I went to see Gilbert at the hospital and he was responding fast to treatment. This made me very happy, I had began developing some affection for him.
Soon my aunty was discharged from the hospital. She had heard of all that went on when she was on admission. I went to the house to assist her in some one or two things before returning to school. She was really depressed because of the pregnancy she had lost. She went to the bank where her husband works and asked them to write a loan in her husband’s name so that she can use that to settle the court case against him. She was told her husband had nothing left in his account upon which they will consider to give the loan so it will be better if she used her husband’s car as collateral. She did that and the loan was given. She came to pay for the court charges and got Mr. Dennis released from police custody.
After I got the confirmation that Mr. Dennis was HIV positive, I quickly went to check myself and I was negative. I then asked Mr. Dennis how he managed to acquire the disease and he said it was Afya that gave it to him. “But why should you sleep with my friend upon all that I’ve been giving to you. I never denied you access, your wife never denied you access so what caused you to fall for Afya?” I asked. “She seduced me and I couldn’t control myself.” “You even went ahead to buy her a car when you never bought some for my aunt or for me. Hmm now look at what you have brought unto yourself? For me, no sex with you again and make sure you don’t infect my aunt with the virus.” I said to him and walked out. “I promise I will never to forgive Afya for this.” I said to myself.
I went straight to Afya’s place when I got to school. I was told she was not around,  I was returning to my hostel when I met her on my way. She was also walking so I was wondering where the car was. “Afya!!! why did you do that to my aunt’s husband? You seduced and slept with him for what? Was it money? Why didn’t you ask him to use condom?” I asked. “Ah Forgive! So you met me on the way and the best you could do is to ask me silly questions? Hmm I don’t blame you. Let me also ask, why did you sleep with my Gilbert? Maybe it was the same reason I also slept with your man too. He preferred not to use condom because I suggested it to him.” she revealed. “meaning all am hearing is true. Afya you are such a wicked person. Where is the car he bought for you?” I asked.
“I sold the car and sent the money over to my mother. Forgive, do you want me to tell you history? People says I am wicked. Well, that’s what they think. Do you think I was happy when I tested positive to HIV? It was these same men that did this to me. I was rapped by my uncle when I went asking for school fees. By then I was in my first year. The man who got my mother pregnant also left her because I learnt the man had a different wife who was also pregnant for him at that time, so he left my mom to the mercy of nature. My mother was poor so it was my uncle who took care of us. One day, I went to him for money for my fees and he forced and rapped me. I couldn’t tell my mother because she could die from hearing that. Not long after doing that to me, thieves also came to our house and took away our only television and on top rapped me again. Since that day, I saw every man to be wicked. I went to this my lecturer for help and he also demanded for sex. Some friends told me that, as a lady, you just need to use your body to get all that you want so I took that advice serious. I used my body to get good grades and also get anything I wanted. I don’t know who exactly gave me the HIV anyway because I slept with lot of people to gain favour. So not that I’m wicked but am only trying to teach men who don’t know my condition the lesson they need to learn in their lives of which your sugar daddy happens to be part. Any man who sleeps with me gets the virus and that is not my problem.” Afya narrated.

Awwwwwwww Afya, but why Mr. Dennis? Couldn’t you have considered that he is my Aunt’s husband?

Enough of that rubbish Forgive! she retorted, don’t be a hypocrite! Are you not warming his bed already? Did you consider the fact that he is your Aunt’s husband before deciding to have an affair with him?

Afya, please stop that, you know I had no choice, he is the one catering for me since my father neglected my sister and I after my teacher murdered my mum some years ago. He threatened not to provide for me again should I resist him leaving me with no chance but to give in. I said in a teary voice.

Well that’s your own problem now. I have important things to catch up with. She said as she walked away whilst I looked at her in confusion. I watched as her steps faded with the wind.
A month later, Gilbert was discharged so I helped them to their house at Nsawam. That was where I explained to him the actual reason behind why Mr. Dennis behaved like that. I tried apologising and just in the process, I felt like vomiting. I went into the washroom and all that came out was green. Gilbert’s sister came around and asked me some few questions and said it was likely I was pregnant. She went to get me a test kit and there, it was revealed that I was pregnant. My concern now was who is the owner of the pregnancy. There was no way I could give it to Mr. Dennis after I know he was HIV positive but on a second thought, I remembered his promise that should I be pregnant for him, he will use my name for the new building papers. Hmm I was really disturbed. Another thought also came that I should mention Gilbert but he also slept with me only once so I was not sure if he will accept it. I told Nana Akua, Gilbert’s sister, not to tell anyone about my status because I needed to play my cards well.
I quickly left their house and moved to my aunts place. Mr. Dennis started managing his condition with his HIV drugs. My aunt went for the retest yet the result was negative. She was congratulated. Don’t be surprised. That is what God can do. Science can never fully understand God. What science sees to be impossible, God sees it as a simple possible thing. The very day Mr. Dennis had the encounter with Afya, my aunt prayed and asked God for protection. Despite she sleeping with her husband after he met Afya and also took her husband’s blood, God in his own way screened the blood before it was given to her. You won’t understand and you shouldn’t worry your self to understand. That is what God can do, simple.
This mystery caused me to have a strong believe in God and a desire to repent. I took church serious and started the new convert classes with seriousness.
I had not heard from Afya for some weeks now, all efforts to reach him was fruitless.

One afternoon, Afya showed up at my hostel, she was calm and sober.

I was wondering where all her bitterness and rage for me for sleeping with Gilbert had vanished to.

After a long chitchat, she asked “Afya, did I hear you say your mother was murdered by a teacher?” “Yes. He is even in jail now. He must rot in there. I wish you knew how much my mother loved and cared for us. Like I won’t become a joystick for men to be using for their dirty games if my mother was alive.” I replied. “Forgive can I see any of your father’s pictures if you have it?” she asked. “But for what? I have some at my aunts place but not here.” I replied. “Alright. Please do me the favour let me have a look at it.

            FORGIVE

             Episode 11

Soon they arrived at the university hospital where I was waiting for their return so I could go and meet the lecturer. Afya moved with some sort of aggression towards me as soon as she got down from the car. “How could you do such a thing? Forgive, you know what Gilbert meant to me. “My friend don’t even go there? What have you seen me done to Gilbert? Was I the one who twisted his neck? Why are you barking like a dog?”, I asked angrily. The heaviest slap landed on my face from Afya. There the fight started. I punched her in the face and pushed her hard to the floor. I made her understand that I was actually coming from a village. She was very lucky people around came to separate us. I would’ve killed her. “What the hell is happening here? Are you people insane?”, Gilbert’s father asked with a very loud voice. “Which of you is my son’s girlfriend? Answer me before I hand you over to the police”. Gilbert’s father asked. Myself and Afya got scared because of the manner in which he asked the question so we remained silent. “Sir if it is Afya then I wish you ask the doctors to test your son for HIV because that evil girl is HIV positive”, Mr Dennis said even as he was in the handcuffs. “Dad what did you just say? Afya is HIV positive? I turned to her. Afya is this true?”, I asked surprisingly. “Hmm Forgive, do I look like an HIV person to you? Ask your sugar daddy how he managed to know that I am HIV positive”. Afya said with an innocent voice. “I said who has been sleeping with my son?”  Gilbert’s father roared. “What is it? Is it that we’ve not seen your son’s type before? It even pained me that I gave your son the opportunity to come close to me. Look I deal with expensive people”, Afya said and called Action to start her car and drive her away from there. “Bring back my car”, Mr Dennis said. “Dad you mean you bought a car for Afya? I’m very disappointed in you. How could you? That means you have been sleeping with her! Oh my goodness. My aunty must hear about this”, I said with tears. Mr. Dennis was just looking straight into my face in shame.
“Honey please let’s ask the doctor to check Gilbert’s HIV status as soon as possible.” Gilbert’s mother suggested. “Yes I think you are right. Officer please go and lock this man in your cell. We will come and deal with him later.” Gilbert’s father instructed. The police took Mr. Dennis away to their station.
Gilbert’s mother took me away to a different place in order for me to calm down even though she wasn’t sure of my side of the whole issue. Afya went straight to her sugar daddy lecturer’s place. Her face got swollen when she got to the lecturer. “What must be pursuing my queen by this time of the day? It is strange for one to see a nocturnal animal in a bright day light. My dear what is the problem? Were you involved in any form of accident for you to have your face like this?” the lecturer asked. “Sir, Forgive did this to me. She actually called some gangs to beat me up when I went back to see Gilbert at the hospital”, she lied. “What! Forgive, your friend? But why will she do that?”, the lecturer asked. “She is just jealous because I’m going out with you so she started putting up strange behaviours which led to this”. Afya lied again. “Oh really! Do you know she was at my office this afternoon asking for money for her sick father?”, the lecturer revealed. “Oh I see, so she has come this far.” Afya said in dismay. “Hmm I see. You don’t worry I will deal with her for you. Put yourself and use this money to treat yourself”, the lecturer said and giving her some money. She thanked the lecturer and left to her house.
Back at the hospital
The blood sample of Gilbert was collected and tested for HIV but to the glory of God, he was negative. This revelation made Gilbert confused about what Mr. Dennis said about Afya but the issue was, despite the fact that Afya loves Gilbert, she never slept with Gilbert without a condom. Whenever there was no condom, it meant no sex. Her defence was that she didn’t want to get pregnant as she was still in school but the fact is she didn’t want to infect him with the virus. They do kiss, hold each other, eat from the same bowl, swim in the same water but that could not be a medium to transfer the virus. Not withstanding, kissing can be a high risk but until there is a cut in the mouth of both parties were blood can go into each others system, the virus cannot be transmitted. Saliva exchange does not cause HIV.
Gilbert’s mother thanked her stars that her son was negative. I was equally more than happy.
Gilbert’s mother seemed to like me because of how I was concerned with their son’s health. They gave me some money and asked me to be checking up on Gilbert as they go to the police station to file the case against Mr. Dennis. At the time they got there, they were told the officer in charge of those cases was not around so they had to come back the following day. They were coming from Nsawam which was not too far from Accra so they left Gilbert in my care and went home to prepare and come back the following day.
Back at Tema General Hospital
The issue of what happened to Mr. Dennis went viral so they needed to test my aunt for HIV again. Still the result remained negative. That was really unbelievable.
In the evening just as planned, I was still thinking of making my grades so I went to my hostel to freshen up and dress in one of my hot dresses and went to the venue to meet the lecturer for the money. I got there and he was no where to be found. The bad aspect was that I failed to take his can so I couldn’t call him. I waited and waited till midnight so I needed to give up. I went to sleep and at  dawn, woke up and went to check on Gilbert. The surgery was done so he was just undergoing the wound healing process. Later in the day I went back to the man in the Students Records Department to ask for more grace periods. I went and he directed me to go and see Afya’s sugar daddy lecturer that I was to meet the previous day. He said he was the chief exams officer and he had discussed everything with him so I should go and he would tell me a good news. “what is the meaning of all these wahala? Sir, if you are not ready to help me directly then let me fail the paper. After all am not the only one to resit the paper.” I said to him and left the office.
Mr. Dennis was processed for court and was fined an amount of Ghc100.000.00 for assault and disturbing the university community. He was to pay all medical expenses for Gilbert in addition. Failure to pay the money, he  will serve ten years in prison with hard labour. The university disciplinary committee also invited myself and Afya to face them for oral examination and punishment for disturbing the university community with our fight.
Will you believe it if I should tell you that I got pregnant too? Let’s talk about that in the next episode.

            FORGIVE

               Episode 10

Truly, my aunty was at the Emergency and Intensive Care Unit. The doctor said there was no time to waste so they checked his blood level failing to check if it was clean due to the urgency and even though it was not very enough to donate, they applied their medical policy. Save the life and treat any other condition that comes after. They transfused his blood for Mrs. Rosemond who happens to be my aunt. To the glory of God, her condition stabilised after receiving the blood. Mr. Dennis felt dizzy after donating the blood so he was also made to rest in one of the staff rest rooms. He felt very weak because he spent too much energy in sexual activities over the previous few days. He introduced himself to the staffs as the branch manager to ADB hence the preferential treatment. Some nurses even fell for him because they saw him to be a rich man.
There was this student nurse who was assigned to keep eye on Mr. Dennis so that in case of anything, she will provide. The student nurse not to tell lies was much beautiful than all the ladies Mr. Dennis met in his life till that day. From look of things, this lady was equally a bad girl. She has this sexy looking dimple  with a broad face which normally put men off gear.  She came into the room where Dennis was and asked if he was feeling better. Mr. Dennis saw that smile and couldn’t take his eyes off the lady. “yeah…. yeah am fine. I hope my wife is also fine now?” he asked. “yes please she is fine.” the student nurse responded. “can I know your name?” Dennis asked. “Am Nana Akua.” she said. “Nana Akuuuuyaa! Oh my word, you are such a beautiful damsel. Can I have your contact number?” Dennis requested. “OK sir 02XXXXXX46” she mentioned it as Mr. Dennis dialled onto his phone. Mr Dennis gave her one of his complementary cards and told her he will call her later for a chat. “Nana Akua, wow in fact God is more than a designer. Just imagine this beauty.”🤔 he said to himself as the nurse left the room.

The secret untold was that Nana Akua was a sister to Gilbert who was on admission at the university hospital. Gilbert was at the university as she was at the Nursing college and was just there for her clinicals. This lady equally loves money so seeing Mr. Dennis as a rich man, was ready to render any service to him.
Soon, Mr. Dennis became OK and went to see the doctor to find out what brought his wife to the hospital.

Doctor: your wife was brought here bleeding from her genitals profusely. Upon investigation we realised she was pregnant but the issue is that there may be complications with regards to the pregnancy. We need to refer her from this hospital to Korle-bu if not she might experience miscarriage and in the wise, lose the pregnancy. The young man (the gardener) who brought her said your wife was trying suicide because she felt you were cheating on her.”
Mr Dennis: But Doctor, I am not getting something clear over here. Do you say my wife got pregnant without letting me know of it? How did that happen?”
Doctor: Please I have some clients to attend to so can you please excuse me? We can talk about this later.
Mr. Dennis: I don’t think you are driving me away from your office. Look, I am the branch manager of ADB so don’t see me as just anybody. Accord me with that respect.
Doctor: Sorry sir if you got offended. The fact is that I can’t answer how come your wife got pregnant. I’ve just answered the question you came with and I’ve also given you what next we need to do. The nurses are working on the referral note. The hospital will provide you with the ambulance but you need to pay for it.
(Nana Akua entered the consulting room with a note from the ward and gave to the doctor.)
Mr. Dennis: Doc, this your nurse is very beautiful, heerrr just look at the dimple.
Doctor: Sorry sir, you are in an office. Eeerrm, this note is coming from the ward, am sorry to tell you that the unexpected has happened. Your wife has lost the pregnancy so there would be no need for the referral. I’m very sorry to announce that to you.
Mr. Dennis: oh God! So why have you decided to punish me like this? This pregnancy that I’ve been waiting for, for decades, you gave it to me and less than a second you took it away. Why? I won’t spare Rosemond for this, why should she try committing suicide whilst carrying my child? I will deal with her. (Tears were all over his face)
Doctor: Sir please I want to attend to Client’s waiting outside so can you please wait outside?
Mr. Dennis: Please last thing. Doctor please I want to know my HIV status can you help me out?
Doctor: (took a paper and wrote some note on it.) Take this to the lab they will tell you what to do.
Mr. Dennis took the note and went to the Lab and was redirected to the ART unit. Over there he was told to go through a pre-counselling session but he said that was not needed so all he needs is the test. The therapist told him it was a standard procedure so he shouldn’t worry and that it won’t keep long. He was given a questionnaire to complete and was later counselled. His blood sample was taken and was asked to wait outside as they processed the blood to get him the results.

Back on campus
I was at the university hospital trying to be sure Gilbert was fine. I never knew who to call for help. I tried Afya’s number but she didn’t pick up. Soon the doctor sent for me. He told me that Gilbert will be fine just that he will need to undergo some surgery in his neck if not he may find it difficult turning his neck. The university authorities called his parents and both parents arrived at the hospital to see their son. After hearing everything, his father said if I don’t provide Mr. Dennis they would call for my arrest. They also gave the go-ahead to the doctor for the surgery to be done. His mother was rather thanking me for bringing her son to the hospital early enough to avoid further complications.
We were standing there when I received some SMS from the man in the students records department who was to manipulate my results for me. The SMS reads “come to office now”  I just couldn’t imagine what he needed me for so I asked permission to go and see him. Gilbert’s father warned me not to step out because if I do he would hand me over to the police. I got frightened and remained.

Soon Afya also came to meet us at the hospital. Gilbert’s father said we should both fetch Mr. Dennis if not he would jail both of us. “Mr. Man, I don’t care who you are. Do I resemble the man that was trying to kill your son? I’m not your slave for you to be commanding me? Secondly, if your son needs me, don’t he know my house? I beg no one should add to my troubles.” Afya spoke rudely to Gilbert’s parents. My mouth was just wide open when she was rattling those words. “Afya I know Mr. Dennis came to your house when he finished the mess, where is he?” I asked her.
“By now he would be at the Tema General Hospital because he was called that his wife was rushed there. So chase him from there.” Afya said. Gilbert’s parents went for police escort and headed towards Tema. They pleaded with Afya to follow them since she would be able to recognise him. The university was also interested in the case so they added a representative to bring Dennis to book. Gilbert’s mother said I should take care of Gilbert as they go and arrest Dennis.
After they left, I quickly rushed to the Student’s Record Department to see this man. “Forgive you had a referral in your Anatomy paper. The lecturer who takes this course can be very smart at times by verifying the results when they are posted to your portals so I will need about Ghc200.00 to change this for you. You have only three days to pay that money.” The man said. “Oh sir, am very dried up as at now is there nothing in place of the money?” I asked. “You know the deal but this time around, I want to be faithful to my wife. Am now a changed person.” he said. I felt very bad and don’t know what to do. Quickly, it occurred to me to try Afya’s sugar daddy lecturer to see if I can get the money from him. The unfortunate aspect is that Afya has given a share of the HIV virus to this lecturer but I had no idea. I left the records department and to the lecturers office. I explained to him that my father was dying and needed Ghc1000.00 to get treatment so I needed help from him. He said I should meet him at a joint on campus in the evening so that we talk more about that. I thanked him and went back to see Gilbert at the hospital.
The test result was ready and Mr. Dennis was called to the counselling room. “Sir, we have screened your blood but before I disclose the results to you, I will like to tell you that HIV is just like any other disease which anybody regardless of your class or status or even race can get. Knowing your status is the best option because with you knowing your status, you would know how best to take care of yourself and live a healthy life. You must also let your partner get tested but after you knowing your status, you need to come back in three months for a confirmatory test because at times the devices we use could give a wrong reading but on a more serious reason, it is after three months of getting the virus that it becomes very clear where you stand. The virus has an incubation period which can be noticed after this three months. Some of the signs you could see if you are positive includes but not limited to the following; night sweats, Recurring fever, diarrhea, unexplained fatigue, Weight loss, among others. We have medicines that can keep you and prolong your life span. Eat well, do more exercise and take your drugs regularly. Please this is your result. (handed a folded paper to Dennis)
He opened it and saw the shock of his life. (Boldly written *HIV+ positive*)

He got shocked and opened his mouth wide and tears started rolling down his cheeks. “This girl has finished me. Please was it my blood that was transfused to my wife? And was it treated before?” he asked with great disappointment and confusion all over his face. The counsellor encouraged him and told him it was best he knows his status and also asked him to come for a retest after three months.
“Afya has killed me finally. I’ve lost my baby and now going to be HIV positive for the rest of my life. Oh God!” 😭 he cried. He went out and stood by his car holding the note in his hands and with sorrow all over his face.
Soon, Gilbert’s parents with the police escort arrived at the hospital. They saw Mr. Dennis standing by his car crying. Afya who was among the people pointed at him that he was the man that twisted Gilbert’s neck. Unlucky for him, Gilbert’s father was a top shareholder at the bank Mr. Dennis was working so they both knew each other very well. “Mr. Dennis, I can’t believe it that you were the one behind this mess. Am sorry I can’t spare you. Officers, please arrest this man.” Gilbert father ordered. He remembered his daughter was doing her clinicals at that same hospital so he called and truly, Nana Akua came to meet her father and realised her parents were there to get Mr.  Dennis arrested. Her father told her their reason for coming and she told her father the interaction that went between she and Dennis. Afya saw that Mr. Dennis was holding some paper in his hands so she snatched it and read the HIV positive notice. “Hahahah sir, sorry oo. Welcome to my world. Next time know who to sleep with. Look at a full grown up man like you, instead of you helping your wife build your home, you are going about chasing after small girls. Make sure you go for your medicines every month if not you will die before me. Foolish man.” Afya said to Dennis as Dennis couldn’t control his tears. “My friend Bank managers don’t cry like a baby, you are disturbing the patients in this hospital.” Afya teased him the more. “Afya so this was deliberate. You will rot in hell I swear, he said with his hands in handcuffs. “What is happening here?” Nana Akua’s  mother asked. Afya told her that Dennis was HIV positive but yet wanted to sleep with her daughter. “Please let him rot in the jail he was threatening me with.” Afya said to the police.
As they were on their way coming to the university campus, Gilbert’s father asked. “Afya I heard you tell this man that he is welcome to your world. Have you been in such a situation before” Mr Dennis interrupted. “She is the one that gave me the HIV. She is positive and made me sleep with her. You evil lady.” “What! Are you serious?” Gilbert’s mother asked. “mum don’t mind him. He is a confused person.” Afya said. “So why did you do that to my son?” Gilbert’s father asked. “Because I found him sleeping with my daughter.” Dennis reported. “What! You mean Forgive was sleeping with my Gilbert?” Afya asked.
Soon they arrived at the university hospital where I was  waiting for their return so that I go and meet the lecturer. Afya moved with some sort of aggression towards me as soon as she got down from the car. “How could you do such a thing? Forgive, you know what Gilbert meant to me. “My friend don’t even go there? What have you seen me do to Gilbert? Was I the one who twisted his neck? Why are you barking like a dog?” I asked angrily. The heaviest slap landed on my face from Afya. There the fight started.
Matters arising.

               Episode 9

……….. “he has been on this drug but never told me of it until I chanced on it. I will kill this man.”  “oh sorry ma. I wish you take a test yourself first and see if you are safe.” the nurse suggested. The test was done and the result was negative. The good news too was that my aunt was also confirmed pregnant. Wow! The irony of life. “Nurse are you saying I am negative?” My aunty asked. “Yes madam you are Negative but I would like you to come back in three months time to do a confirmatory test.” the nurse said. “what confirmation again? Thank God am negative. I’m leaving that house as soon as I get there.” my aunt said. “Madam so who takes care of your pregnancy should you leave the house? Just be sure your husband is really positive before you take any action. My aunt agreed and also now experiencing a mixed feeling left the hospital. What she has been waiting on the Lord for, for several years has now been granted. She is pregnant but why at the time of the suspicion of her husband being HIV positive? She thanked the nurse and left. The pharmacy took care of her hospital bill since they were the root cause of why she was at the hospital. The lady who broke the news was dismissed from work. She lost her work and didn’t get her promised reward from my aunt too. She regretted her actions yet it was too late.
Mr. Dennis was home thinking where exactly his wife could be the whole day without picking any of his calls. “I can see this woman want to play along. We shall see who will get tired in this house.” he said to himself. Afya called him on phone and said she needed some money to buy fuel for the car. He assured her of the money later. He relaxed on the bed and was going through his phone when suddenly, he received a text message indicating a withdrawal of Ghc 5.000.00 which was made from his account three days ago. This was after he requested for his balance statement using his phone. “what! What’s the meaning of this? Who tempered with my account?” he asked himself in a confused and disturbed manner. His mind started racing from me to Afya and to my aunt as the suspects to this.
Soon, my aunt arrived at the house. She didn’t know which of the news to put up first so she decided to wait for a nice moment before breaking it to him. Mr. Dennis seeing his wife back to the house became angry. “Where the hell have you been the whole day and left me hungry? Oh I can see you want to be on your own. Before I get angry and do any worse thing in this house, tell me who went to cash out an amount of Ghc5,000.00 from my personal account?” he asked. “My aunt stood surprise acting like someone who knew nothing about what he was saying. Mr. Dennis didn’t say anything and went to take his cheque book and saw that one leaflet was removed and the drug was also not in the bag. He brought the whole bag outside and asked “who opened this bag and removed a leaflet from my cheque book. I also had something in this same bag, who took it?” he asked sounding furious. “Is this the thing you are asking for? “my aunt said removing the drug from her hand bag. “Now, tell me what you were using this drug for?” she asked. Mr. Dennis was standing aloof. “Forgive” with a slip of tongue he mentioned my name in place of his wife. “Since when has my name changed from Rosamond to Forgive? I won’t be surprised if she is the one who infected you with this deadly disease that you were hiding from me. You can always run but you can’t always hide. Why didn’t you tell me that you were HIV positive?” she asked the bitter question. Out of the blue, Dennis landed the most heaviest slap on my aunt’s face. “how dare you tell me I am HIV positive? Back to sender. Were you out of your senses before asking me this stupid question?” he asked angrily. My aunt fell straight to the ground with a dizzy face upon the slap. She spat out blood because she bit her tongue. She stood up very angry and carried the small flower pot in the Conner of the room and threw it on her husband. That was the very first time these two couples fought in their marriage life. “If you are not HIV positive then why should you be keeping HIV drug in bag? You wicked man. You went round sleeping with Forgive, have you seen the consequences. If you dare touch me again, I won’t spare you.” she said. “who told you this drug is for HIV positive people? Give the medicine to me and stop that illiteracy life.” “Don’t take me for a fool. I’m just coming from the hospital. I showed it to the nurses and they said it is used by HIV positive people. So what exactly do you have to say about this?” she asked. “you are not serious.” Mr. Dennis said and took the drug from the floor and went out. He went straight into his car and sped up to my hostel.
Very unfortunate on my part, Afya’s original boyfriend, Gilbert, was at my place to complain to me about how Afya has changed after getting her new car so I was only trying in my own way to make him understand that Afya was not best for him. In the process of talking to him, he fell for me and started showing arousal behaviours towards me. It had been long since Mr. Dennis visited to give me sex so I was equally ready for it. In no time, we found each other on my bed and thrusting each other. Because  Mr. Dennis was carrying some bitterness in his heart before moving out, He never prompted me before coming to the hostel. Unlucky for me, I didn’t lock the door, partly because I was not expecting anyone. Mr. Dennis opened the door only to see me sweating and moaning on top of Gilbert. 😳”what! Forgive, Jesus Christ. So this is what you do here?” I jumped off Gilbert and covered myself with my blanket. Gilbert quickly wear his boxers. Mr. Dennis walked towards him, held his neck and twisted  it. Gilbert fell unconscious. turning towards me “Now, tell me where Afya stays, I will deal with you later.” he asked. I remained silent because seeing Gilbert on the floor unconscious was ringing something in my head, that I might soon join him so I was scared. Dennis called Afya on phone and she picked. Afya at that time was with one of her sugar daddy lecturer. “Mr. Dennis am a little busy at the moment. Please let me call you back when am done.” Afya picked and hanged up. Dennis called back and this time around it was switched off. “what the hell is happening? Can’t you hear me asking you to give me Afya’s house address?” speaking to me. “OK, please she stays at Madina……… ” I gave him the direction. He didn’t say anything and left to where I directed him to. I called others for help and Gilbert was rushed to the university hospital. One of the guys who helped carry Gilbert into the taxi knew him to be Afya’s boyfriend so sent a text message to Afya on both of her lines that this was what was going on. In no time, Afya and the lecturer came to see Gilbert at the hospital. Luckily, the doctor assured us that he would be fine so we should just keep praying for him. All this while, Mr. Dennis was waiting for Afya to return to the house. “What happened to Gilbert? Afya asked me. “My aunt’s husband was the one who twisted his neck when he came to see him at my place. He came there to look for you so when Dennis came he thought he was my boyfriend.” I narrated. “You mean Dennis did this to him? Okay! I know how to deal with him.” she said and told the lecturer that they would meet later. Afya called Mr. Dennis and he said he was waiting at her place. Action drove on top speed because that was the instruction Afya gave him. Lol. Who is more angry than the fellow? Afya dared not to spare Dennis, Mr. Dennis dared not to forgive Afya should she confirm her HIV status. Afya got to the house and saw Dennis standing beside his car. “Why did you twist Gilbert’s neck? Tell me if not I will call for your arrest now.” Afya threatened. “How dare you question me. Why did you chose to sleep with me when you knew you were HIV positive? Tell me if not I will skin you alive. Even what that boy went through would have been better than yours.” Mr. Dennis also threatened.  Afya got shocked with the question. “you said what? Me, HIV positive?” she asked as if she was not aware. Mr. Dennis are you saying you gave me HIV?” “Don’t try to play smart here. What is the use of this drug? Why were you eager to have them when I told you it was with me? Speak.” Mr. Dennis said loudly and angrily. “Sir please bring your voice down. I can explain.” Afya with a very sober voice said. “explain what! Afya what do you have to explain? Tell me it is not true. Afya please tell me you are not HIV positive. Please.” Tears flooded Mr. Dennis eyes as he waited impatiently for Afya to say she was not positive. (Afya also in tears) “Mr. Dennis am very sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you and besides, sorry to tell you that yes I am positive and that is my drug.”  Dennis lost control and sat on the sandy floor. “oh my God! I’m finished. Who do I tell this? God why me? Afya you’ve killed me. Oh Afyaaaaaa!” Mr. Dennis was shedding tears like a baby. “But sir please I wish you go and get yourself tested at the hospital. You may not have it.” Afya advised. “To hell with your advice you devil.” he said.
Soon, Mr. Dennis’ phone rang and it was a new number. He didn’t pick on the first two counts but did on the third. “sir please your wife is in a critical condition now at the hospital. We need blood for him right away. We also found out that she is pregnant so be quick if not we might lose her and the pregnancy. I am speaking from Tema General Hospital.” the call ended. 😳 “My wife? How come? Pregnant? How?” In a confused state, asked countless questions and off he  sped to the hospital. His blood was compatible to that of my aunt so he was ready to donate his own blood when he gets there. Truly, my aunty was at the Emergency and Intensive Care Unit. The doctor said there was no time to waste so they checked his blood level failing to check if it was clean due to the urgency and even though it was not very enough to donate, they applied their medical policy. Save the life and treat any other condition that comes after.
